Position Purpose: |

Under the supervision of the CT Supervisor, the incumbent produces diagnostic CT scans, assisting the radiologist in diagnostic CT scan procedures, and ensuring patient care while representing the vision and mission of Renown Health System. |

Nature and Scope: |
|
The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measure by the unit/department age specific competency standards. The incumbent is responsible for coordination of the daily workflow of the staff technologists and providing for appropriate QC monitoring, as specified in the evaluation section of the job description. The incumbent is responsible to maintain current CPR certification, TB skin test, mandatory in-services, etc. This position has the authority to make technical decisions that will provide the best possible CT scans, and administer IV contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist. This position must be proficient in the use of in-house CT scanning and contrast injecting equipment. This position will require training and general knowledge attained to operate the hospital and departmental computer systems. The major challenges to this position are related to staying current with changes in the field of CT scan and coordinating the CT scan department on a daily basis as well as providing strategic planning input for the future direction of the department. The incumbent is required to perform CT scan procedures of the human body according to the guidelines recommended by the Imaging Director and Renown Health CT Scan Department Policy & Procedure manual. The incumbent is challenged to operate a variety of sophisticated CT scan imaging units and image storage systems. The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families. This position does provide patient care. |

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred |

Education: |
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. |
Experience: |
2 years of clinical diagnostic radiographic experience preferred. |
License(s): |
American Registry of Radiological Technologists ARRT(R) upon hire. . AART (CT) Registry must be acquired within 12 months upon hire. |
Certification(s): |
AHA BLS within 60 days upon hire. |
Computer / Typing: |
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. |
