Renown Health, Northern Nevada's largest and only not-for-profit healthcare network, is hiring a Division Chief of Peripheral Vascular Surgery.   Join our growing Department of Surgery, division of Vascular Surgery, practicing in the region’s busiest full-service Heart and Vascular Institute and the only Level II Trauma Center serving a catchment area of over 900,000.

The Division Chief of Peripheral Vascular Surgery will be reporting through Renown Medical Group leadership, specifically to the Vice Chair of the RMG Department of Surgery and Chair of the RMG Department of Surgery, ultimately to the Chief Executive Officer of the Renown Medical Group.

In support of the Peripheral Vascular Surgery and Acute Care Vascular Surgery program, the Division Chief will also work with the Chief Medical Officer, Vice President of Medical Affairs and CEO of the Renown Regional Medical Center to create a collaborative culture that respects and works effectively with all patients, Medical and Advanced Practice Provider Staff, Nurses and operational leaders to deliver care with excellent quality and patient experience for the Clinical Integrated Health Network (CIHN).  The Division Chief will model physician behavior that encourages engagement of staff, and adherence to regulatory and accreditation guidelines.

The role will be responsible for fostering active physician involvement in the success of the Division of Peripheral Vascular Surgery and Acute Care Vascular Surgery Department and will serve as the liaison to medical staff and ensure high standards of professionalism.

The Candidate is expected to contribute and support to the overall strategy of the Department of Surgery, including oversight management of the PV Surgery division and its provider team and will play an intimate role in support of the overall strategy of Renown Health’s Cardiovascular Service line and it’s dyad leadership.  The Chief will attend all the CV Service Line meetings and partner with the CVT and Cardiology teams to grow the services offered in the service line.

The Candidate will promote RMGs commitment to education of medical students, PA students, and contribute to the development of the future General Surgery residency.  The Chief will have an academic appointment at the University of Reno Medical School and actively contribute to the mission of educating future physicians and expected to attend academic meetings.

The Candidate with foster and environment of learning, fairness, and the highest level of clinical care.  The Chief will promote research activities and help build on the clinical research portfolio in PV Surgery.

The Candidate will be held to a high standard of conduct reflecting the values of the RMG department of surgery and Renown Health.  The Chief will have  the unique opportunity to take a very busy high performing and talented division to the next level.

Position Highlights

  • Monday – Friday schedule 7 am to 5 pm
  • Vascular APP First Assist on all surgeries
  • Clinic support; MAs, APNs, Scheduling Coordinators
  • 24/7 Perfusionists and Anesthesia support
  • Intensivists 24/7 with 3 Intensive Care Units- including a new Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU and Neuro ICU
  • Teaching hospital for University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine
