Position Purpose
This position is accountable for providing quality Occupational Therapy services under the supervision of the Therapy Supervisor/Manager and, ultimately, the Director of Rehab Therapies. This individual works under the direct supervision of the Occupational Therapist, Registered. This individual provides comprehensive occupational therapy services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including their families/caregivers. Services include, but are not limited to, assisting the Occupational Therapist, Registered, in the assessment and comprehensive management of self-care activities, ADL skills and community reintegration. In addition, this position provides individualized care in the areas of cognition and psychosocial development within the acute rehabilitation environment.
Nature and Scope
This position provides direct patient care and may include providing service at all Renown Health locations where therapy services are provided. This position provides input to the interdisciplinary team regarding ongoing patient care and has the authority to make minor adjustments in individual patient programs, scheduling of patient appointments, documenting of objective data, directing the activities of technicians and recommending and obtaining appropriate routine equipment.
The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning and treatment implementation of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and families. This position gives input into the appropriate plan of care and provides services through time of discharge from the facility, under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, Registered. This position is responsible for providing supervision to rehab technicians.
At times, this position may be asked to participate in program development and outcome measurements in the clinical setting.
This position does provide patient care.

None required. Applicants with physical disabilities experience, specialty certification or experience in one or more specialty area is preferred.

Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license.

Nevada or California driver’s license and ability to pass Renown Health’s Department of Motor Vehicles Report criteria, and current automobile insurance.
Certification(s):
CPR/BLS certification required.
