POSITION TITLE :
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for routing and scheduling outbound shipments
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Description :
Negotiate with Trucking Companies over Freight Rates and Discounts for inbound and outbound shipments
Route daily shipments cheapest or most appropriate method
Determine whether freight should be sent UPS or LTL trucking based on delivery, box sizes, customer requirements and cost
Fill out Trucking Bill of Lading to ensure that we are billed correctly
Schedule trucks – inbound and outbound.
Check freight billing to ensure that we are billed correctly
Check UPS billing to ensure we are billed correctly and be able to get billing corrected if necessary.
Assist with Customer Service duties.
Other duties as necessary
Required Skills / Abilities :
Expert knowledge in data entry
Experience working in an ERP system.
Must be able to anticipate problems and issues and exercise independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action in solving problems while knowing when and to whom to escalate issues.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience :
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with data entry and logistics and / or college degree
Excel and Outlook experience
ERP experience
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
