Shop Assistant

Rent A Can Toilet Company provides portable sanitation solutions for the community for a variety of applications, i.e., construction projects, businesses – large or small, public and private events, residential properties, and more.

The Shop Assistant is the backbone of our organization and vital to the company’s success. We are looking for a fast-paced, hardworking, and reliable individual to join our team! This is a full-time, year-round position in our Eagle River shop. Reliability and punctuality are a must!

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Processing rental requests and preparing the necessary orders
• Cleaning and repairing portable restrooms, handwash stations, and other rental items
• Maintaining chemicals, supplies, and parts inventory, unpacking and sorting incoming freight, and communicating supply needs to the appropriate team member
• Cleaning shop and yard, including, but not limited to snow removal, trash disposal, sweeping parking lot, pumping drains, cleaning floors, and cleaning bathroom
• Preserving a safe work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, loading/unloading areas, and workstations neat and organized
• Maintain a clean and presentable appearance
• Performing other duties and assisting team members as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

• Self-motivated and self-starter
• Able to work independently but is trustworthy, friendly, and approachable, with great teamwork and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and adaptable to changing situations
• Willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Efficient and able to meet company performance standards
• Must have basic knowledge of tools, i.e., drill, riveting guns, pressure washer, etc.
• Operate forklift and bobcat, updating certifications as required
• Must be able to withstand long hours of being on your feet and have a full range of motion and the ability to lift 70 pounds with or without assistance (frequent sitting, lifting, bending, and transporting objects of various weights/sizes)
• This position requires staying later in the day to ensure the Service Technician’s needs are met for the next day.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
