Director, Allocations & Planning
JOB PURPOSE:
Lead the Planning and Allocation team to build, maintain, and manage the corporate inventory plan and purchasing budget. In addition, the Director is responsible for delivering a quality inventory allocation plan that considers store and district performance. The Director will implement best in class techniques that recognizes shifts in demand and trends in business to support our Omni-Channel & AI strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the management / daily operation of the Inventory Allocation team.
- Report out on allocation plan and impacts to cash flow while measuring effectiveness of allocations.
- Identify store performance bands and then implement specific allocation strategies for such bands.
- Drive constant improvements to the Allocation processes and streamline reporting and analytics provided to management, including developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators.
- Perform detailed analysis of product performance to optimize inventory.
- Ensure the weekly inventory plan ties to the overall company budget and that the weekly plan ties to the weekly store level inventory unit plan and OTB dollars (exceeding $500M in sales).
- Recommend product purchase quantities based on weekly forecast updates, business trends and seasonality, and promotion plans.
- Provide the projection of purchasing cash flow.
- Prepare executive level presentations for senior management.
- Create and manage a roadmap for new reporting technologies (such as AI and innovative data visualization).
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis.

- Strong understanding of the entire supply chain, including forecasting and demand planning, inventory management methods and related concepts, including demonstrated ability to use statistical forecasting techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI or any data visualization tool.
- Working knowledge in SQL, Python or Cloud data warehouse systems (e.g, Snowflake).
- Strong analytical and quantitative expertise in understanding complex issues and their consequences and the ability to communicate those issues and recommend solutions.
- 8-10-year of experience, college degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline, such as Supply Chain, Business or Data Analytics is required.
- 8 years of inventory planning and forecasting, data analytics experience within a multi-location environment.
- 7. 5 years of experience in a retail planning, forecasting or allocation role.
