Store Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Direct reports: Counter Sales Associates, Yard Facilitators, Mechanics, Drivers

Position Summary:
Oversees the daily operation of the store location to ensure safety, productivity, customer service, and profitability. Responsible for managing staff, reviewing profit and loss, staffing, employee development and training, equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interviews, hires, motivates, and trains staff to develop professional growth opportunities.
- Organizes and oversees staff schedules and work.
- Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.
- Develops customer relationship skills among staff, emphasizing responsiveness, delighting customers, professional appearance, communication skills, and attitude.
- Responsible for employment execution, maintenance, and submitting required documentation on time, including onboarding/exit, performance management, expenses, time & labor management, HR policies, safety, and payroll.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees staff and fulfills staffing needs for regular hours, special events, or high-traffic times.
- Maintains and motivates a positive sales team through communication, incentives, and evaluations.
- Holds regular meetings with staff to review challenges, opportunities for growth, and development.
- Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
- Builds strong relationships with customers for new business development opportunities.
- Develops strategies, procedures, and policies for efficient customer relationship handling, equipment responsibilities, and customer complaints.
- Monitors programs and procedures to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Maintains an in-depth working knowledge of systems and processes.
- Collaborates with sales and marketing to maximize revenues and customer loyalty.
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates sales, marketing, and budgeting.
- Prepares reports, including profit and loss statements, monthly operating reviews, yearly budgets, and other operational status details.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes revenue goals and profitability of the store's location.
- Plans and establishes systems to control expenses.
- Monitors fleet inventory levels to ensure timely customer needs.
- Ensures fleet utilization by sharing with other stores and districts.
- Responsible for safety audits, safety training, compliance with State and Federal OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Accesses and recommends revenue and profit goals, fleet requirements, and headcount requirements for budgeting purposes.
- Develops, overseas, and maximizes retail budget and product inventory, purchasing, and sales.
- Confirms daily sales reports and cash receipts; ensures monies are deposited daily and reports are submitted according to company policies.
- Ensures inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks.
- Collaborates with branch managers and owners to develop, coordinate, and identify cost-effective advertising and hiring strategies.
- Uses company software to research, analyze, and track purchases.
- Ensures the store always looks clean and inviting.
- Works with external consultants, Human Resources, and Financial processes toward the overall health and profitability of the branch.
- Oversees all safety matters, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations, and drug and alcohol testing.
- Performs other duties as required and/or directed by Owner(s), GM, Advisory board.
Physical Regular Requirements Include:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds at times.
· Ability to sit, talk, and hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, stand, walk, ascending and descending stairs, reach, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel.
Work Skills Desired:
- History of growing revenue and profitability.
- Understanding of P&L and other financial controls.
- Solid understanding of the commercial / retail sales & service industry and is a business manager with sales drive and aptitude to grow the business.
- Ability to create and manage processes.
- High level of accountability, time management, and willingness to learn all aspects of the business.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Business Administration, or related field highly preferred, but less formal education with more on-the-job experience may be substituted.
- At least two years of retail experience.
- GED or high school diploma required.
- 3-5 Years in rental equipment or construction industries.
- 2 Years of Operations Management or related management experience.
