Responsibilities Will Include But Not Limited To
- Draft working drawings utilizing AutoCAD to create/validate module layouts and generate installation diagrams as required for permit approval and instructions to the installation team for construction;
- Production of new and modification of existing drawings such as site plans, roof plans, schematics, diagrams, details, elevations, perspectives, blocks, etc;
- Review and submit structural information to the engineer to ensure completion of structural sign off is completed prior to permitting and installation of the systems;
- Review drone flight data from the site survey team using AutoCAD to draft rooftop layouts of the solar arrays prior to permitting and construction;
- Utilizing and maintaining a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to produce or modify existing drawings and plans with supervision;
- Interpret data provided from sales, operations and field employees to self-start tasks;
- Work with Field Leadership to understand site limitations and technician and code requirements of products to ensure all drafted plans are executable for construction;
- Understand and interpret spec sheets, specifications and residential codes as they relate to project and product specifics;
- Assist in reviewing site survey photos and notes in order to help make decisions on design considerations such as electrical equipment placement, solar module placement, etc;
- Contribute to the project documentation process and provide clear and concise communication to operations and field employees;
- Assist with other Operation functions as assigned.
- Deadline motivated and high quality standards
- Proficient in Microsoft and Google products
- Knowledge of document control best practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to streamline work utilizing resources from other projects and creating libraries
- Excellent spatial/visualization skills
- Proven communication skills within a team, with employees and customers
- Preferred candidates have Autodesk Certification, construction experience, solar PV system training, and knowledge of building codes
- Ideal candidates will have drafting experience pertaining to commercial and residential solar
- Associates Degree in Drafting
- Desire to get into renewable energy industry and build a career with a regional solar leader
- Ability to give full attention to project details, and to use logic and reason to create layouts and schematics
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options
- Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 based on experience
