RSO - Radiological Safety Officer - Lockwood, NY
ReNuke Services is seeking a Radiological Safety Officer to support a Superfund Site Project in New York.
Support is expected to start April 2025 and is estimated to be 6 months with the potential for an additional 12 months of work after the initial period.
The RSO must have at least 2 years of experience as an RSO on a radiation remediation project(s).
The RSO must have experiencing managing RCT/HPTs, and the ability to manage a radiation safety program.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
* Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience performing RCT/HPT duties at the Senior RCT level (meeting ANSI/ANS 3.1-2014 requirements) on DOD, DOE, EPA, or NRC radioactive cleanup sites.
* Experience providing radiological support for moderate hazard radiological work.
* Experience responding to radiological events (spill, personnel contamination, etc.).
* Experience in the development and implementation of radiological work plans, permits, and procedures (RWPs, IWDs, RSPs, RPPs, etc.).
* Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as respiratory protection, safety glasses, anti-contamination clothing.
* Experience mentoring and training junior RCTs.
* Knowledge of DOD/NRC radiation safety policies and procedures.
* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
* Must have 40 HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher certificate.
* Must be able to pass HAZWOPER physical and wear respiratory protection.
* Must be able to pass a background check.
* Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Adobe software products.
