Education And/or Experience
Associate degree with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience in Real Estate, office management, bookkeeping, banking or related field.
Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Experience In Accounting Or Finance Preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical/Computer Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: High degree of independent reasoning and self-motivation. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations, where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to use independent judgment to analyze a variety of changing conditions and determine a course of action necessary to continue, complete or initiate a wide range of work assignment.

- Answers various inquiries by telephone, greets the public entering the office and furnishes general information to the public, including assistance with tax related questions. Receives and relays messages and directs customers to appropriate personnel. Processes, sorts and distributes mail.
- Originates correspondence, prepares reports and statistical data, and creates forms as needed by staff. Operates all office equipment.
- Maintains reports, records and files through data entry. Updates files for administrative and public information
- Provides secretarial support to the County Auditor-Treasurer. Assists in arranging meetings. Prepares legal notices for publication regarding public hearings and meetings. Prepares related notices, mailings and recording of documents.
- Reads and interprets legal descriptions of rural and city property. Documents real estate transactions. Certifies current and delinquent taxes, locates parcels by legal description, receives and verifies accuracy of certificate of real estate value and records transfer of property.
- Responsible for all accounts receivable and payable.
- Responsible for receipting and coding fees collected.
- Coordinate and prepare all purchase orders.
- Maintains accurate records, files, and databases.
- Prepares and maintains record of all required county, state, and federal grants and reports.
- Reviews and verifies accuracy of mortgages and ensures correct Minnesota State mortgage registration tax is collected.
- Assists with the State-wide Voter Registration System (SVRS) and all aspects of elections in Renville County.
- Assists in preparing, printing and mailing of property tax and Truth in Taxation statements.
- Prepares receipts, coding and legal documents in the Forfeited Property procedure. Requests, completes and furnishes the deeds to transfer ownership.
- Maintain cash drawer and balance daily cash plus make bank deposit when assigned.
