Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Route Driver to join our team. 3:30am start time with a clean driving, background and drug screen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely while ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws while performing route driving duties. Experience with DSD delivery to grocery stores, Large chains and box stores.
Duties
- Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and trucks, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload products using a pallet jack and other equipment as necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients during deliveries.
- Navigate routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to schedules.
- Handle heavy lifting of packages and materials as required during loading and unloading processes.
- Assist in warehouse operations when not on the road, including inventory management and organization.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving or route driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) safely and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining delivery records.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
