IT Engineer

Responsibilities/ Essential Functions

The IT Technician is responsible for providing a wide range of support needs for our clients. This relates to all technologies such as servers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. The IT Technician is tasked with troubleshooting problems with existing infrastructure and with deploying new elements of network infrastructure. While the majority of this position will be executed remotely from Repeat Business Systems headquarters, there will also be onsite work as required. Candidates should have working experience with Microsoft server, Exchange server, backup systems, server virtualization platforms, firewalls and switches. The engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise as needed, and must have experience with LAN/WAN maintenance, management, troubleshooting, and design. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment demanding many technical proficiencies and continuous development and training. Must be prepared to operate in a team-oriented environment to provide and collaborate on solutions for our clients.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required

• Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems), and network systems. 5 years technical experience
• Multiple Professional IT Certifications such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA,SonicWALL CSSA, Cisco CCNA or VMware VCP, is preferred.
• Broad knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
• Experience installing, configuring, and managing firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi devices
• Interpersonal skills such as verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and customer-care
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose advanced technical issues.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
• Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
• Service awareness of all organization's key IT services for which support is being provided
• Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
• Excellent documentation skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
