Data Engineer III

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will develop, enhance, and sustain innovative data engineering solutions to improve the customer’s data experience. In this role, you will also review designs and participate in meaningful collaboration sessions on how to help customers leverage their data assets to solve complex problems and inform their business decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of data, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

• Help drive the design and implementation of ETL workflows across multiple disparate systems and data sources and help provide clarity across the customer’s data
• Implement new data engineering features in a highly collaborative work environment alongside product managers and fellow engineers across multiple disciplines
• Share technical solutions and product ideas through team planning, design review, and technical discussions
• Build and operate largescale distributed data processing systems, data lakes, lake shore apps
• Experience in working with large and disparate data sets, document stores, and tabular data
• Experience with data engineering languages like Python (primary language), SQL, R, and PySpark
• Specific experience with AWS Step Functions and/or EventBridge, Athena, Glue, and Lake Formation

• 4 years of proven experience in building and deploying complex ETL pipelines on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments
• 4 years of experience in Big Data technologies such as AWS Glue, Spark, Athena, or related Elastic Map Reduce (EMR) solutions
• 4 years of experience with AWS Services leveraging SQL, NoSQL platforms to efficiently store time series (temporal) data solutions
• Strong object oriented or functional design skills with an understanding common design patterns
• Experience with other modern programming languages like Java, C , and C# is a plus

• 8 years of industry experience in software development or data engineering
• Experience with core statistical principles and models 
• Experience with industry standard data modeling methodologies and processes
• Experience with industry standard data security and classification methodologies
• Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g. Agile software development, test driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, etc.)
• Willingness and ability to own all stages of the development process: design, testing, implementation, operational support
• Experience documenting complex data processing workflows and operational guides
