Heavy Equipment Operator - 1st Shift

Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Reports To: Shift Supervisor

Location: Berkeley, SC

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Hours are from 4am - 12:30pm M-F, Saturdays as needed.

Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator position moves commodity bales, loads trucks, and assists the Operations team in the cleaning of the plant. This position may need to be filled in on different jobs as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Complete Heavy Equipment inspection at beginning of shift

· Inspect and clean Heavy Equipment throughout the shift

· Operate the Heavy Equipment in safe manner

· Be aware of pedestrian traffic

· Engage horn while coming through doors and around corners

· Monitor and empty 6-7 hoppers

· Blow down/sweep areas throughout shift

· Load/unload incoming trucks

· Maintain warehouse cleanliness

· Stage and sort commodities in warehouse

· Pick off-spec out of commodity bales

· Label and document commodity bales

· Help balers with cleaning and maintenance on machines

· Check for faulty and leaking propane tanks

· Breakdown and rerun partial commodity bales

· Help other Heavy Equipment operators during down time

· Ensure safety chains and barricades are in place

· Check for safety hazards while riding through plant

· Assist in other parts of plant as needed

· Other duties assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Experience:

• Heavy equipment operation: 2 years (Required)

Ability to Commute:

• Moncks Corner, SC 29461 (Required)
