Description

Repro Rising Virginia is seeking a is seeking a motivated and experienced nonprofit professional to spearhead financial growth with individual and major donors, planned giving and private and corporate foundations and to take our fundraising to the next level.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of a fundraising and marketing plan that emphasizes building relationships, engagement, investment, stewardship, and measurable goals.
- Create and implement a multi-year donor-development and fundraising plan that supports ReporRising VA’s priorities and goals as defined in the organization’s strategic plan.
- Work with the staff and board to assess the feasibility of organizational expansion to serve the Virginia area and engage prospective funders to support organizational goals.
- Personally engage, solicit and donors, and community partners to cultivate value-added relationships across Virginia that strengthen the movement at large through generative, abundance-mindset capacity building.
- Ensure Repro Rising VA’s fundraising, marketing, and community and programmatic initiatives are integrated and meet or exceed Development industry standards in ethics and professionalism.
- Serve as a member Repro Rising VA’s leadership team and represent the organization externally as a persuasive and inspirational spokesperson.
- Collaborate with Repro Rising VA’s communications team to create clear, compelling, and relevant marketing and fundraising messaging and materials to support donor recruitment and engagement.
- Together with the Executive Director, strategically engage the Board to achieve fundraising and engagement goals that maximize their time, skills, and influence.
- Lead Repro Rising VA’s staff in practicing an ongoing organizational culture of community-connected and inclusive fundraising.
- Build an annual event strategy that implements innovative approaches and builds partnerships with a wide range of donors and allies.
- Collaborate with board members, staff, and volunteers to ensure that all fundraising and event-related activities are successful.
- Create and monitor Repro Rising VA’s development department budget with strategic budget requests to support our fundraising goals, including budgets for fundraising and event activities.
- Research and identify potential new sources of funding, including corporate partners, grants, and individual donors.
- Work with Development Associate to monitor and expand successful fundraising activities through donor engagement data, event outcomes, and diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics.
- Develop and execute, in partnership with the Executive Director and Human Resources, a Development Department Staffing Strategy.
- Approve direct reports’ Timesheets in a timely basis.
- Develop and execute plans for regular and engaging communication with RRVA’s membership through direct mail, online messages, and our sustaining member program.
- Supervise the organization’s member database and online contribution platform (NGP EveryAction) as well as, donor acknowledgement process.
- Support communication around important news and activities with existing individual funders and enhance donors’ connection and commitment to RRVA’s work.
- Work with a team consisting of the Executive Director, Development Associate, and event consultant, to plan RRVA’s annual gala.
- Oversee the grants management process, including identifying potential new institutional funding opportunities, collaboratively setting proposal budgets and grant reporting metrics, and tracking proposal and reporting deadlines.
- Manage the Development Associate, growing and developing them as a leader.

Skills :
The Position – The Development Director role is based out of either the Northern Virginia or Richmond area and reports to the Executive Director. It is a hybrid role, requiring at least one day / week in the office (exact hybrid policy TBD). This role is full-time exempt (35 hours / week) and requires some nontraditional work hours, including occasional Virginia-based travel and evening and weekend hours for fundraising events.
Compensation Package :
Salary : Starting compensation is $74,320-$84,250 annually, commensurate with experience.
Benefits : Benefits include medical (70% employer covered), vision (80% employer covered), dental (80% employer covered), life insurance (100% employer covered), short-term and long-term disability (100% employer covered), and a retirement plan with 3% matching. We also offer professional development opportunities.
Time off : Vacation days accrued based on years of service / Five (5) sick days.
