Job description

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES & SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible breeding, feeding and watering the animal colonies and cleaning/disinfecting their enclosures, equipment and surrounding work areas.
• Assists with breeding reptiles, maintains daily work logs, reports and other records.
• Record and provide feedback on animal health and welfare to manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically demanding physical labor, requires endurance in repetitive tasks, operating at a fast pace for extended periods of time, standing on feet for 8 hours a day. Must be mobile and active throughout the day.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor warehouse climate simulates a tropical weather condition; work is performed in warm and humid environments in order to simulate the animals natural environment.

SKILLS NEEDED:

• Will Train
• Must be able to recognize and understand animal behavior.
• Must be able to handle Ball Pythons, Lizards and Rodents.
• Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions including strict policy and procedures for the care and maintenance of animals, equipment and facility.
• Must be able to follow bio security rules and procedures to prevent the introduction of pathogens into the colony.
• Must be able to handle the stress associated with high risk situations of feeding, breeding and cleaning animal enclosures.
• Must be able to exercise patience, consideration and empathy toward animals while carrying out duties.
• Must be able to observation, recognize and evaluate conditions of animal health, diet and behavior and communicate this information to management.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work some weekends on a rortaing schedule as well as holidays,
• Ability to make it to work during all climatic conditions.
• Must be able to pass a rigid background check including work history, criminal records and other records deemed necessary.
• MUST BE PUNCTUAL AND RELIABLE.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.75 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shif
