GENERAL FUNCTION: The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst – Real Estate is responsible for the underwriting and analysis of commercial real estate and construction loans. This individual will play a key role in credit administration department; including the training and mentoring of less experienced analysts and assisting Loan Officers and Portfolio Managers in structuring loan requests that adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the preparation of quality, detailed real estate cash flows in order to identify potential credit risks.
- Capable of evaluating financial statements.
- Mentor and assist in training of less experienced commercial credit analysts.
- Make recommendations in accordance with sound banking practices in order to minimize risk exposure.
- Ensure commercial loan requests adhere to bank policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate and partner with the Commercial Lender, Portfolio Manager, or Team Leader to assist with monitoring of the loan portfolio.
- Participate in on-site client meetings with the Commercial Lender, Portfolio Manager or Team Leader.
- Review of appraisals to ensure adherence to applicable federal regulations and soundness of analysis and conclusions.
- Complete independent research and analyze market conditions to assess collateral values.
- Assist with maintaining bank’s commercial credit tickler system, to include tracking of financial statements and covenants, and other customer reporting/review.
- Assists in assigning underwriting requests, reviewing of loan presentations and taking meeting minutes for loan committees, when applicable
- Completion of special projects as required by senior management and other additional responsibilities as requested.

- Working knowledge of finance, accounting, and credit analysis concepts.

- Knowledge of commercial business, construction and commercial real estate lending.
- Capable of taking ownership of personal development/ performance and ability to work independently.
- Prepare loan presentations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Have read, understand and know the Bank’s Lending Policy.
- Some contact with customers, conducting relationships in a professional manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank.

Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5-years previous Commercial Credit Analyst experience with a real estate focus in a financial institution
- Qualitative analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Suite of Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills
- Internet skills
- Sageworks Risk Analyst

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
