JOB TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant or Nurses Aide
REPORTS TO: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse/ Department Manager
JOB SUMMARY: The CNA/NA is a professional caregiver who provides direct and indirect care activities under direct supervision.
Day Shift: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., weekend rotation required
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: CNA/NA responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Prepare unit/patient room for receiving a patient/resident for admission
- Provide personal care assistance including: bathing, hygiene, grooming, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring, and ambulating
- Obtain and document vital signs, weight and intake/output as directed
- Document accurately daily activities and pertinent information
- Make regular rounds to assigned patients, anticipate their needs, and answer and respond to call lights in a timely manner
- Transport patient/resident as necessary
- Provide postmortem care when necessary
- Work with other team members to turn and transfer patients as directed
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills- Ability to multitask, Excellent Time Management, Critical Thinking, Adaptable to ongoing changes in healthcare, Able to identify and follow protocols
- Experience
- Prefer but not required a minimum of one year clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Education
- High School graduate (or equivalent) or high school student with an interest in health care profession.
- Registration/Certification
- Current CNA licensure in the state of Kansas or enrolled in a CNA class
- CPR certificate
