What You'll Do
As an ESL Teacher, your work will focus on the following :
Drive Academic Results
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned ESL instruction that supports scholars in acquiring English language proficiency and accessing grade-level content.
- Use data to monitor scholar progress and tailor instruction to meet individual language learning needs.
- Foster a classroom environment where scholars feel valued, inspired, and supported to succeed academically and socially.
Foster a Collaborative Culture
Partner with classroom teachers to implement effective strategies for English language development and content integration.Participate in weekly professional development sessions, embracing constructive feedback to continuously improve your craft.Share best practices and resources with colleagues to create a school culture of growth and shared accountability.Provide Specialized Support
Administer language proficiency assessments to monitor scholar growth and inform instructional planning.Design and implement strategies to support scholars at varying levels of English proficiency, including newcomers.Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements related to English Learners (ELs).Cultivate Meaningful Relationships
Build strong, trust-based relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive school environment.Communicate frequently with families regarding scholar progress, fostering a partnership in their child's success.Advocate for the needs of English Learners, ensuring equitable access to academic opportunities and resources.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (required).Valid ESL teaching certification or enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the start of employment.Preferred : Previous experience teaching English Learners, particularly in underserved communities.Why You'll Love Us
