General Responsibilities
The Instrument Techs must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, ISO's field installations, material takeoffs, field sketches, and ability to understand specifications. Must also possess the ability to plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes; connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components; test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system; use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps; inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes; place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes; diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Safety Responsibilities
Ø Pre-job and Pre-task Planning
Ø Identify behavior and conditions, which jeopardize the safety of others.
Ø Will not begin work without appropriate permit and follow all instructions outlined on the permit.
Ø Question the need for additional safety precautions, if believed to be necessary for the safe completion of the job.
Ø STOP WORK and REPORT any UNSAFE CONDITIONS immediately to their Supervisor.
Ø Has the personal accountability to refuse to work that you feel is unsafe.
Ø Inspect all tools and equipment before each use to ensure good working condition.
Ø Comply with site safety rules by following procedures and by wearing the prescribed PPE.
Ø Never take direction or changes to assigned work from Client personnel without first checking with the Supervisor.
Ø Assist site management in the continuous improvement of the safety program by offering detailed suggestions.
Ø Attend daily tool box safety meetings and scheduled training sessions.
Ø Inspect their work site continuously to ensure that unsafe conditions do not exist
Qualification Standards
The person who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace. Ø Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship.
Ø 70E Certifications preferred, but not required.
Ø Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.
Ø Must have a minimum five (5) years of experience in the trade you are applying for, and have a knowledgeable understanding of the craft work being performed.
Ø Must have knowledge of safety rules and regulations and learn client and company policy.
Ø Must have the knowledge and understanding of SDS’s (Safety Data Sheets).
Working Conditions
Ø Position will require working in all weather (hot/cold muddy) conditions.
Ø High noise environment
Ø Work in plant operating conditions, including possible emergency situations; may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Ø Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; and working around construction machinery.
Physical Requirements
Ø Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ø Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs
Ø Hand/eye coordination
Ø Hearing and comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions
Ø Will be performing tasks involving physical labor on construction projects
Ø May operate hand and power tools of all types
Ø Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
Ø Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry objects on a frequent basis
Ø Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and lifting
Ø May assist other craft workers as needed
Ø Must be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, multifloor buildings, scaffolding, vessels and/or other types of structures without the assistance of elevators.
Mental Requirements
Ø Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Ø Must have the ability to talk and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
Ø Reading and writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and or safety policy.

- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes
- Perform electrical inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Install and connect wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures
- Test electrical systems for functionality and safety
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area
```Skills```
- Proficient in using power tools and electrical testing equipment
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience working with high voltage and low voltage systems
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and concepts
- Ability to build and install electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Basic knowledge of frame carpentry for installation purposes
