What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee/CAT/CAS position at RESADA?
This is an entry level position with advancement opportunities. No experience required, only the desire to help people recover from substance addiction.
This position will start on graveyards, but you can work your way up to other shifts. RESADA helps pay to get you certified as an addiction counselor while you work.
As you work your way and receive credentials you will have pay increases based on the level of credential that you accrue.
If you already have a Certified Addiction Counseling credential you can start on a dayshift or swing depending on your level of credential.
Also the starting pay is negotiable depending on credential level.
Job Description :
- Complete paperwork online in our company platforms.
- Complete discharge paperwork as our clients leave.
- Complete intake paperwork as clients arrive for treatment.
- Monitor detoxing clients and help take care of them while they detox from their substance.
- Monitor our Residential clients to make sure they follow our house rules.
- Transport detox clients to our facility as needed.
- Monitor Medication to clients as needed.
- Learn and Develop clinical skills necessary for addiction treatment.

- Must be able to pass a drug screen (marijuana use not allowed)
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- All starting pay rates are based off of level of credentials, experience as well as education degrees in the field.
