Job Purpose
This position is responsible to create, execute and maintain effective training systems for all designated production and quality employees, before being paired with a certified trainer on their home shift. The training coordinator will complete the initial onboard training of all new hire employees as well as retraining of current employees. The position will promote safety and continuous improvement while focusing on training for the success and retention of Reschcor employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assists in the development, execution and maintenance of Reschcor’s hourly training strategy, including assessments
- Collaborates with department managers to identify training opportunities and/or needs
- Uses appropriate methods to problem solve training barriers
- Develops, presents, and maintains presentation material for the new hire orientation process
- Develops and maintains Reschcor’s training curriculum, tools, and materials for hourly positions
- Coordinates, schedules, and prepares for internal training sessions for hourly team members
- Presents classroom training material and conducts proficiency tests either by live demonstrations or quizzes
- Monitors and evaluates the training programs effectiveness and metrics
- Coordinates and organizes external training events
- Assists managers with locating training resources
- Assists with Reschcor’s Succession Plan Strategy, including stewarding individual development plans
- Assists with Reschcor’s Department of Labor Apprenticeship programs, including tracking training progress
- Mentors and supports Reschcor’s OTJ certified trainers to ensure alignment in the training strategy, expectations, and skill levels
- Coordinates, executes and documents annual OSHA training with all staff
- Researches and provides recommendations to improve training and knowledge of team members
- Creates/Updates work instructions for new and current processes
- Promotes continuous improvement initiatives to improve training outcomes
- Creates training videos and works with current systems
- Maintains training records in the learning management system
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in a training coordinator role or similar experience in Talent Development is required. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources, organizational management, or communication is highly desired
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification, is preferred
- Experience in plastics manufacturing is preferred but not required
- Strong technical proficiency is highly desired
- General knowledge in instructional design and training methodologies and techniques
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, leadership competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation/public speaking
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point and Learning Management Systems
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to analyze data
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety initiatives and training requirements
