Position Summary: Electrician
The Electrician is responsible for plant maintenance, electrical systems, apparatus, electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
Essential Functions:
· Install main electrical power supply wiring and conduit for equipment as directed by management including, but not limited to, robots, welders, motor control centers, conveyors, air handlers, mixers, presses, hydraulic components, and kilns.
· Connect Power Supply wires to machine and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment per industry standard and electrical codes.
· Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, PLC’s, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires/cables.
· Calculate proper fuse/circuit breaker configuration if not provided by original equipment supplier.
· Use PC’s and other interface equipment to program and diagnose PLC’s and electronic equipment controls. Diagnose and replace faulty hydraulic and pneumatic electrical components of machines and equipment.
· Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors and position sensing devices. Replace motor bearings and rewire motors.
· Diagnose and replace faulty electronics components.
· Test Malfunctions machinery and discuss malfunctions with other maintenance workers.
· Ensure all safety policies are always followed, including Life Critical Safety Rules.
· Regularly inspect and evaluate electrical and electronic equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently and safely.
· Perform Preventative maintenance on equipment and maintains record on equipment status and maintenance.
· Study blueprints and schematics to establish the best method of repair or replacement. Identify and determine material / electrical requirements with part numbers and equipment required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes:
· Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
· Troubleshoot daily maintenance/electrical issues and problem solving.
· Able to work safely with 480 volts.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Basic metal welding skills are required.
· Carry tool bag continually to work station, as needed
· Ability to read blueprints
· Demonstrated attention to detail
· Ability to complete all electrical functions according to code
· Good mechanical aptitude
· Must be able to continually climb ladders daily and work in tight situations.
· Must be able to work 6am-4pm; flexibility with hours depending on projects and immediate needs.
· Adhering to company safety protocols
· Dependable, strong work ethic, and team player
· Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully.
