Emergency Medical Technician - Basic

Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to join our amazing team of professional public servants! As part of this team you will have the opportunity to:

• Respond to emergency calls for service calmly, efficiently, and promptly
• Administer basic life support to patients at the scene, en route to the hospital; and in a pre-hospital setting, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards;
• Assess the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed
• Rescue and extricate victims of accidents, sudden illness, or entrapment using proper rescue and medical techniques
• Communicates with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or arrangements for reception of patient to appropriate facility
• Completing patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification;
• Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automatic External Defibrillator credentials;
• Valid Emergency Vehicle Operations course for apparatus driven (EVOC);
• Valid Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator (EMSVO);
• NIMS courses 100, 200, 700 and 800
• Hazardous Materials Operations

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.81 - $17.45 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
