The Rescue Mission is hiring a full time Cook position focusing on the food preparation for our Crossroads Facility which is 59 bed assisted living facility. This position is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served to the residents in Crossroads Adult Care Facility. This position complies with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and follows established food production programs and procedures. This position is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.
Additional Duties:
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated food service professional to join our team. This role involves managing food and supply inventory, ensuring timely availability for preparation, and safely storing food. Responsibilities also include preparing food according to standard recipes and special dietary needs, setting up serving stations, and maintaining safety procedures, including risk management and proper work practices. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with team members, demonstrate excellent communication in sensitive situations, and uphold confidentiality and safety standards. Regular attendance, adherence to dress codes, and participation in training are essential as well as completing additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Associates Degree in restaurant/food management required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in restaurant/food services.
- Experience with institutional-size food preparation equipment and safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Duties:
- Knowledge of large-scale menu planning and food preparation.
- Proficient knowledge of Combi Oven and Cook Chill Systems.
- Communication skills; able to speak and write clearly and directly.
- Decision-making and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
- Manages time efficiently; responds quickly to time-sensitive issues.
- Maintains a calm professional presence.
- Guest-focused; service oriented.
Rate of Pay:
$17.00 per hour.
