Client Care Specialist
The Rescue Mission is seeking a Full Time Client Care Specialist to work four 10-hour shifts on 2nd shift (1pm-11:30pm) in our Syracuse Emergency Shelter. The Client Care Specialist maintains a safe and supportive environment for clients, utilizing the resources of the Rescue Mission to ensure a healthy and pleasant stay and provide an environment of positive change.
Additional Duties:
This position develops rapport with clients and provides support, encouragement, and motivation towards building and/or maintaining independence while maintaining appropriate professional employee-client boundaries at all times. Participates as a team player to provide the best possible care for every client who enters Rescue Mission facilities by completing rounds, monitoring facilities, facilitating drug and breathalyzer tests, giving out personal care items and bedding, enforcing guidelines as appropriate and referring clients to appropriate internal services; does so while treating clients with respect and dignity. Shares pertinent client information via documentation, participation in meetings, and on an individual basis as needed, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate, and completes trainings within 30 days of assignment.

Requirements & Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree in human services or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Experience working with homeless, addicted and/or mentally ill clients desired.
- Must follow CDC guidance including wearing a mask when working.
- Full vaccination and boosted (when eligible) against Covid-19 is strongly encouraged.

Rate of Pay:
Starting Pay rate - $18.50 per hour
2nd Shift Differential (1:00pm – 11:30pm) – Additional $1.00 per hour
Work Schedule:
Sunday through Wednesday.
