As the Biobank Manager in our Van Nuys, CA Immunodiagnostic Research Laboratory, you will lead and manage a team of Clinical Research Coordinators responsible for sample tracking, processing, and fulfillment of clinical trials.

The ideal candidate is familiar with Clinical Testing Protocols and the IRB process. He/she must have a good scientific background including an understanding of clinical research requirements, and methods for specimen collection, accessioning and tracking, transport, storage, and quality control processes for a range of biological specimens.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day logistic operations for sample collection studies and sample banking
- Manage and support a team of associates responsible for sample receipt, accessioning, internal or external (when required) tracking, processing, and fulfillment, to ensure samples are processed in accordance with established protocols and timelines. Be responsible and accountable for team employee engagement, employee retention, and professional development.
- Manage simultaneously multiple projects and follow-up progress to ensure compliance with established protocols and timely completion.
- Manage long-term sample storage, retrieval, and audit procedures
- Where possible, improve existing methods for collection, transport, storage, and analysis of specimens
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure accuracy in sample collection, processing, and analysis
- Other work as assigned, which may include coordinating special projects
About you:

- Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or similar Life Science field with a minimum of 3-5 years project management experience in a biobank, central lab, or sample management facility
- Strong scientific background including an understanding of clinical research, specimen collection, transport, storage, and testing for a range of biological specimens
- Comfortable managing and analyzing data (Excel, SQL, and other databases)
