Position Summary:
The responsibilities of a Manufacturing Technician are to support the laboratory staff with the manufacturing of component and products. This position will perform a variety of tasks within a laboratory setting that may include component fixation, separation and washes, and blending products according to approved protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture products according to schedules and targets listed on the product request.
- Perform component procedures as assigned, making sure reagents and supplies needed are available.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. For example, ordering, quarantining of outdated components, filing, and inventory.
- Dilute red cells processed by production department according to product specification and template.
- Clean and maintain work areas in accordance with procedures.
- Accurately complete and maintain required documents in accordance with procedures.
- Ensure that product is manufactured according to deadline.
- Display a willingness to learn new concepts and techniques.
- Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma/GED, AA degree in biological sciences preferred with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of laboratory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required
Ability to independently prioritize tasks on a regular basis
Sterile techniques
Pipetting skills
Must demonstrate flexibility and a high aptitude of multitasking in order to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Ability to follow complex work instructions and priorities as assigned
Capacity to work independently on routine assignments or projects and work with a team
Ability to handle repetitive tasks
Exhibit strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
