General Description

The New York City Ghanaian Mental Well-being Project team is seeking a skilled and motivated REDCap Survey Builder to join our research team. This position is ideal for graduate students pursuing degrees in Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields, who are passionate about community-based participatory research and addressing issues related to acculturation and mental health in African immigrant communities.

The New York City Ghanaian Mental Well-being Project seeks to understand the dynamic complexity underlying acculturative stress and mental well-being among Ghanaian immigrants living in New York City.

The community-based participatory project is a partnership between researchers at National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, NIH, City College, African Life Center, and the Immigrant Health Lab at Brooklyn College.

For this project, we seek a graduate student or recent graduate with qualitative research skills and experience building surveys in REDCap.

Location : Remote with occasional in-person meetings as necessary

Type : Part-time / Flexible Hours

Other Duties

  • Design, build, and maintain user-friendly surveys and data collection tools using REDCap
  • Create and maintain a codebook for all surveys
  • Collaborate closely with the principal investigators and research team to ensure surveys align with validated instruments
  • Follow research protocols to ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity in survey design and implementation
  • Handle and protect sensitive and confidential data with professionalism
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated expertise in building surveys or other data collection tools in REDCap.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with current theory and evidence related to acculturation, mental health, stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Completion of CITI training in social and behavioral research with human subjects (training can be provided for eligible candidates).
  • Knowledge of or experience with community-based participatory research methods, including interviews, focus groups, town halls, and advisory boards.
