Salary Grade 25: $88,938 -$101,067
The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Project Manager (NYSED Liaison) in the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), Division of Prevention Services (DOPS) in its administration of primary prevention and other activities. The candidate selected will work in collaboration with the OASAS DOPS and will manage substance use prevention initiatives and support data-driven decision-making efforts.
Candidates should have experience with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and strong management, writing, and oral communication skills; ability to work cooperatively with diverse stakeholders; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and ability to adapt to a work environment with changing needs and priorities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Under the direction of DOPS leadership, the Project Manager (NYSED Liaison) will manage ongoing multi-site primary prevention initiatives for the implementation of coaching models for school-based programming from pre-K to high school. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and participate in the development of future initiatives.
- Primary point of contact for funded sub-recipients to ensure project deliverables and goals are completed in a timely manner and barriers for service delivery are addressed.
- In coordination with DOPS and NYSED, identify, recruit, and train additional school districts and prevention providers for expansion of comprehensive school-based prevention services. Oversee the management of statewide training initiatives to expand Social Emotion Learning programs and increase access to evidence-informed digital materials to meet prevention priorities.
- Supervise Project Coordinators in the day-to-day management of initiatives including monitoring service delivery, tracking project outcomes, and scheduling learning collaboratives for several diverse prevention initiatives.
- Work with Project Data Coordinators to remove barriers and to provide timely feedback to sub-recipients on data entry and data collection issues.
- Collaborate with other OASAS Divisions to ensure the sub-recipients adhere to OASAS' fiscal and prevention service delivery guidelines.
- Maintain a project tracking database with individual and summary reports regarding project outcomes and progress towards goals.
- Present project information and findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- The Project Manager (NYSED Liaison) position requires travel to the locations in which grant activities are occurring. Travel 30%
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience teaching elementary, middle or high school students, or in a similar educational setting, substance use disorder (SUD), health, or mental health field; OR
- A Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience as noted above; OR
- A Doctorate degree with 2 years of professional experience as noted above.
- Candidates must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in education, public health, public administration, sociology, psychology, or related field.
- Experience with NYS education system, implementing projects of similar size and complexity is desirable, including examples of projects and references who can speak to the success of those projects.
- Experience working in culturally diverse communities is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and/or PowerPoint.
