Job Summary
The Mental Health Specialist plays a vital role in supporting youth with mental health challenges. This position involves working closely with patients to provide compassionate care, monitor their well-being, and assist in therapeutic activities. The technician will collaborate with healthcare professionals to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes recovery and mental wellness.

Duties

  • Assist patients in daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Facilitate therapeutic group activities, including art therapy sessions.
  • Support patients in understanding and managing their treatment plans, including medication adherence as guided by psychopharmacology principles.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and interactions.
  • Engage in one-on-one counseling sessions focusing on gender issues counseling when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations within the facility.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
  • Knowledge of art therapy techniques to enhance patient engagement and expression.
  • Understanding of psychopharmacology to support medication management discussions.
  • Ability to address gender issues sensitively and effectively within a therapeutic context.

  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals and documenting patient care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
