Peachtree Waste is hiring a Shop Assistant, Mechanic/Technician.
The pay rate is $20-25 per hour, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Works under direct supervision and follows established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks
- Performs minor repairs and limited preventive maintenance (PM) on assigned equipment
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
- Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment
- Washes vehicles and equipment
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles
- Assists senior Mechanics in the completion of project work
- Assists with service calls for breakdowns
- Performs other maintenance related work as required
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often
- Troubleshooting trucks and equipment
- Ensuring work is in accordance with OSHA and DOT standards
- Carrying out routine vehicle checks. (Fluids, lights, air pressure etc.)
- Using technology such as scanners and computers to perform daily duties
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards
Requirements:
- Capacity to work independently steadily, and to lift/maneuver/operate heavy equipment
- Experience with hydraulics
- Ability to use computer diagnostic tools
- 2 years experience in welding
Salary : $20 - $25
