Job Title: Night Houseman
Overall Responsibilities
To make continuous patrols of hotel property ensuring the safety and security of the hotel, its guests, employees, and property. Responsible for cleanliness assignments and assisting our guests with several maintenance requests.
Essential Functions
- Theft reports
- Incident reports
- Accident reports
- Ensure that any undesirable persons are effectively handled without interrupting the orderly flow of the hotel operation
- To handle associate injuries, including proper reporting, in the absence of the Health Services Manager.
- To investigate any associate accident areas and properly report.
- Serve as a fire watch and take necessary actions to guarantee the protection of the property
- Ensure that all Security SOP’s are adhered to by all hotel employees
- Enforce Security SOP’s, including
- No solicitation rule
- Employee entrance/exit rule
- Employee parking
- All other SOP’s deemed to be security related
- Maintain effective working relationship with other departments and employees
- Patrol parking areas noting problem areas and unusual activity
- Be familiar with hotel property and activity, reporting to the base and supervisor any suspicious behavior
- Patrol guest and employee areas noting any problems or unusual activity
- Note any safety hazards and take appropriate measures to alleviate problems
- Take energy conservation measures when necessary
- Know hotel Emergency Operation Plan and assist in the event of an emergency situation in any way needed.
- Maintain a current First Aid certificate and perform standard First Aid when necessary
- Use proper radio procedure in accordance with hotel policy
- Report any and all security breaches to the shift supervisor
- Conduct physical hazard inspections when requested by supervisor
- Each associate is expected to carry out all reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing
- Language skills: Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules (i.e., Lockout Tagout, JSA’s), safety awareness information (MSDS), operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to keep logs and to speak effectively to customers and associates.
- The Hotel functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move an associate from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, it is understood that business and weather determines the amount of hours that are worked and that some weeks may be scheduled at less than 40 hours and other weeks at more than 40 hours.

Qualifications
- Take care of any maintenance requests from our guests or Front Desk associates.
- Monitor guest public bathrooms and ensure they are up to Brand standards.
- Ensure all guest and public areas are maintained and up to standards during the overnight/third shift.
- Use aggressive hospitality skills while interacting with other guests and associates.
- Perform as a maintenance
- Deliver guest folios and newspapers by 4 a.m. every day.
- Serve as a deterrent to crime and rule violations by making continuous patrols of the hotel property.

- High School Graduate (English must be fluent) Loss control or related experience
- Good physical and mental health
- Good judgment, self-motivated and courteous
- Good communications skills and professional demeanor Ability to function under pressure and act independently Working knowledge of State Criminal Code
- Ability to obtain State Security License if required
- Minimum CPR and basic First Aid Certification
