Residences at Vantage Point, senior living community located in Columbia, MD seeks a fulltime Fitness
Asst. This individual will assist the Fitness Coordinator with group exercise programming for both
- independent living and in our Health Center. The ideal candidate must have excellent hospitality skills;
be creative, flexible and have the ability to design appropriate programming for seniors. Qualified
candidates should possess knowledge, certification and / or college education in exercise / fitness courses,
preferred.
Primary Job Duties :
Implement and coordinate a fitness and wellness program.Evaluate and assess the needs and physical capabilities of each resident.Formulate and implement a program of exercise suited to each individual.Lead a variety of challenging and safe group exercise classes.Lead exercise programs and monitor individuals as they use exercise equipment.Conduct assessment, initial and ongoing, of residents and guide their participation in exercise programs and initiatives.Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the fitness equipment.Vantage Point Hospitality Promises

A degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, or health promotion preferred. High school education with experience in geriatrics and fitness.One year experience in a fitness or physical therapy program in a licensed health care setting preferred.Experience working with the aging population.Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal directions.Ability to plan and assume a leadership role of fitness and wellness programs.Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing programs.Must possess an interest in keeping aging population active.Must possess patience and understanding of the aging population.Interested candidates can apply at www.vantagepointresidences.org under the Career tab.
