About the Role
We are seeking a Licensed Music Therapist to join our team at Residential Home Health and Hospice. This is a full-time position that requires partnering with our field staff and leaders to provide exceptional care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices
- Inform and educate patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
- Establish therapy objectives as part of patient assessment
- Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and plan subsequent sessions
- Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
- Encourage patients to participate and support them musically and through improvisation to provide comfort during end-of-life stages
Requirements
- Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
- Certification Board for Music Therapists certification
- At least six months of work/education experience in geriatric healthcare
- At least six months of work/education experience in end-of-life/terminal illness healthcare
