About this role:
- Provide music therapy sessions in accordance with company protocols and certification standards
- Communicate the value of music therapy to patients, staff, and facility partners
- Establish therapy objectives during patient assessments
- Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to ensure effectiveness and inform subsequent sessions
- Engage actively in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
- Encourage patients to participate and respond musically to their needs, providing comfort during end-of-life stages
- Foster creative development and facilitate positive changes in behavior and well-being
Necessary qualifications:
- Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
- Board certified (MT-BC) credential according to U.S. Certification Board for Music Therapists, preferred
- State music therapy licensing, preferred
- At least six months of work/education experience with geriatric healthcare
- At least six months of work/education experience with end-of-life/terminal illness healthcare
