Job Description
We are seeking a licensed music therapist to join our extraordinary care team. As a Hospice Music Therapist, you will partner with our field staff and leaders to provide support to our patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices
- Informing and educating patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
- Establishing therapy objectives as part of patient assessment
- Planning, reviewing, and assessing therapy sessions
- Taking an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
- Encouraging patients to participate in sessions and responding musically to their needs
- Facilitating positive changes in patients' behavior and well-being
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
- Certification Board for Music Therapists
- State music therapy licensing where required
- At least six months of work/education experience with geriatric health care
- At least six months of work/education experience with end-of-life/terminal illness health care
