What are the responsibilities and job description for the ICS Overnight Mental Health Worker-Part Time position at Residential Transitions, Inc.?
Position Overview:
Overnight Mental Health Workers, operating in an Integrated Community Supports (ICS) capacity, provide direct support professional services and independent living skills training to the individuals we serve in an apartment-style setting. Our clients include those with a severe mental illness (SMI) health diagnosis and/or a traumatic brain injury (TBI) disability. This role reports to the Regional Directors and has no direct reports.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide Overnight Support: Maintain an awake and alert presence overnight, responding to acute crisis situations as needed.
- Program Rotation and Safety Checks: On alternating nights, travel between program locations with a company-provided vehicle and phone to monitor client safety, offer support, and complete necessary tasks to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Dispatch and Crisis Support: On other nights, act as dispatch staff, being the primary contact for client needs, answering crisis calls, and providing 24-hour support as needed.
- Documentation and Office Upkeep: Maintain accurate documentation for overnight shifts, clean and organize the office, and be available to support clients with any urgent or emerging needs.
- Independent Living Skills Support: In addition to crisis management, assist clients in building independent living skills including mental health management, community integration, medication management, financial skills, and accessing community resources.
Required Qualification and Experience:
- Passion for improving the lives of individuals we serve.
- Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check and other required screenings.
- Ability to work independently and organize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to travel within the Metro Area using a personal vehicle, with mileage reimbursements provided.
- Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and personal vehicle insurance, with the ability to transport clients if necessary.
- Strong person-centered approach and ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
