What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machining Set-up/Operator position at Resideo?

Join a team that maintains and repairs manufacturing equipment. The Machining Setup/Operator person is responsible for independent operation of various machines, maintaining machine operations and independent tool changes on an assembly Production Cell. Individual will perform set-ups to obtain a completed part to print with little assistance. Training will be provided to achieve independent set up of primary assigned machine(s). You will work under immediate supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented production facility operators and machinists. You will be provided with on-the-job training and learning experiences. You will conduct preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repair. JOB DUTIES:

  • Operation of machines producing machined parts
  • Demonstrate ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions
  • Demonstrate ability to comprehend and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Knowledge and use of micrometers, calipers and fixed gauges
  • Maintaining operation of machine processes
  • Perform removal and resetting of tooling independently
  • Perform full set ups unassisted. (Primary assigned machines)
  • Cycle through proven programs to obtain a finished part (Primary assigned machines)
  • Must provide information of operation processes in written form
  • Requires ability to read and follow program movements
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work area and equipment in a prescribed manner
  • Other duties may be assigned when machines are down, or production is not needed.


YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to calculate such things as percentages, angles, feeds and speed.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations.

    • Stand or walk 100% of the shift, frequent bending and lifting of 30-35 lbs., assisted or unassisted.
