Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team as a 1099 independent contractor. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine patient needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients with complex needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems such as Optimantra.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance clinical skills.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
- Current DEA license.
- Current malpractice insurance.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment made up of in person and remote working team members.
