Resilience is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Associate Counsel to join our team and help navigate the complex legal landscape of cybersecurity, insurance, and data privacy.
The Associate Counsel will support the General Counsel in handling a wide range of legal and compliance tasks critical to Resilience’s operations. You will work closely with various teams, including product, sales, and operations, to ensure our products and business practices align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop legal and regulatory skills within the fast-paced worlds of cybersecurity and insurance.
This will be a hybrid position located near one of our hub offices.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Review & Negotiation: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including SaaS agreements, NDAs, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Compliance Support: Help ensure compliance with data protection regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA), cybersecurity standards, and insurance regulatory requirements.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research on issues related to cybersecurity, insurance, and data privacy, providing well-reasoned recommendations to the General Counsel and business teams.
- Policy Development: Support the development and implementation of company policies, particularly those related to data privacy, security, and compliance.
- Risk Management: Assist with identifying and managing legal risks, including analyzing regulations and assessing how they impact the company’s operations and products.
- Licensing: assist with identifying and managing complex licensing requirements, including preparation of applications and oversight as needed
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to provide guidance on legal matters, helping to manage risk while supporting company growth and innovation.
- Administrative Support: Help maintain legal documentation and support the General Counsel in the preparation of reports and updates for senior management.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house setting
- Experience in technology, cybersecurity, or insurance is a plus.
- Familiarity with contract law, data privacy regulations, cybersecurity, or insurance is preferred.
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Collaborative approach and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and in good standing to practice law in a US state bar
