Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction, oversight, and coordination of all functions and activities of the facilities management departments, including Engineering, Plant Operations, and Facilities Management.
- Assume overall responsibility for the safe and efficient functioning, maintenance, and operation of all buildings, equipment, machinery, systems, and grounds keeping.
- Plan, coordinate, and be responsible for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of uninterrupted light, heat, power, water, and monitoring systems of all health system buildings and services.
- Oversight of budgets, staffing, short- and long-range planning, program development, policy, and procedure for all facilities department, construction/renovation operations, landscape operations, campus planning, skilled trades' contractors, maintenance and repair programs, and energy management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and regulatory agencies, efficiency of services, and delivery of optimal customer service.
- Plans, improves, and maintains owned and leased facilities and equipment.
- Provides strategic leadership and vision for departments.
- Provides coordination and direction in the design, review, and specifications of construction and remodel projects with architects and administration.
- Monitors day-to-day activities and work on Engineering, Plant Operations, Aesthetics, and Grounds.
- Provides oversight as needed for contractors and construction managers.
- Directs, manages, and coordinates with the functional authority for planning, organization, control, and integration to ensure completion of projects.
- Negotiates project contracts with the direction of Hospital Senior Leadership.
- Establishes and manages budgets and productivity targets.
- Controls expenditures within the limitations of the project and department budgets.
- Ensures maintenance of physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems, and grounds are always in operative and safe working condition.
- Responsible for constant state of readiness to comply with TJC, Life Safety preparedness, OSHA, Air/Water preparation compliance, and document requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of management experience, with a proven track record in leading facilities management, engineering, or business/operations services.
- At least 7 years of experience in facilities management, including overseeing both soft and hard facilities services.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership in a healthcare environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations across multiple properties.
- Exceptional client relationship skills with a focus on maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction, aligning clients' mission with the client's vision.
- Strong technical knowledge of facilities systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems, ensuring all systems are in safe and operative condition.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with regulatory compliance, including TJC, OSHA, Life Safety, and local, state, and federal.
- Proven ability to establish and manage budgets, control expenditures, and meet productivity targets within department and project constraints.
- Ability to maintain a constant state of readiness for emergencies, ensuring compliance with preparedness requirements, including Air/Water preparation and spirit with a strategic vision for department growth, long-range planning, and program development, aligned with the overall goals of the health system.
