As the Senior Engineering Manager (SEM), you will be responsible for leading a high-performing engineering group to support critical weapon system engineering processes from concept development to sustainment. Key Responsibilities
- Lead a mid-sized engineering department, ensuring competency in Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, Electrical and Software Engineering, Mechanical Design, and Configuration / Data Management.
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, career development, performance management, and employee training (~20% focus).
- Provide direct technical contributions to design, testing, risk management, and proposal development (~80% focus).
- Collaborate with Program Managers and Chief Engineers on architecture, design, and technology decisions.
- Ensure successful delivery of design artifacts, development models, and production units.
- Develop strategies for technology innovation and cross-program collaboration.
- Establish performance objectives and monitor engineering operations' success.
