The Position:
Become an entrepreneurial part of ResinTech’s rapidly growing water testing business. We are seeking an experienced technical leader with previous analytical laboratory practical experience who will help execute our vision for further accelerating the growth of our laboratory water testing business. The successful candidate should be able to function in a dual capacity role as both the technical leader for the waters team but also be commercially focused. Specifically, we are looking for a candidate that can strategically determine in partnership with the commercial team other testing methods, test kit packages and other services that could be offered to further business growth. The successful candidate will have the additional responsibilities to ensure the overall ISO quality framework and our in process lab certification is maintained in all aspects including accurate receipt of incoming samples, lab data/quality review and approval of final sample reports in our LIMS system The role requires a detail oriented person to eventually maintain the laboratory certification and the development of the required details and SOP’s to achieve certification in new key methods. Secondarily you will become part of our greater technical team and work with scientists, technologists, and industry leaders to help drive the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver Functional Excellence in all aspects of the water testing methods and services ResinTech provides.
Ensure that all samples are tested correctly within the required service time levels.
Ensuring that any deviations from methods or sample chain of custody are identified, communicated and correct actions are taken in conjunction with client input.
Responsible for communicating with customers as needed to review results or explain analytical methods used in an analysis.
Responsible for Procedure Development, Review and Training for testing associated with water testing.
Maintain lab certification (NELAP) and further advance certification of additional methods and implement and achieve ISO17025..
Run own analytical testing as circumstances require and coordinate proficiency testing.
Ensure all data entry and records or results are correct and recorded in our LIMS database system.
Performance management and career development of small team of direct reports.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major course work in chemistry, microbiology, or other closely related field is required.
Five years of increasingly responsible journey level analytical work experience in chemistry or microbiology or other appropriate discipline. A graduate level degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
Three years of demonstrated managerial or supervisory experience in a laboratory facility or laboratory functional unit engaged in chemical and bacteriological testing and analysis preferred.
Previous experience in a waters testing laboratory role is preferred.
Other experience in environmental test laboratory role will be considered.
Work Environment
Working hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a 40-hour work week. Additional hours may be required, and we may require shifts and on-call duties.
Work may be in laboratories where protective clothing is worn and there may be occasional trips out to collect/deliver samples or to take measurements.
Following strict health and safety procedures is essential due to the presence and use of toxic chemicals.
It is common for some degree of lifting and heavy work to be undertaken with the daily moving of equipment, machinery, samples, and supplies. Lifting may be up to 30lbs.
In some instances, you may need to carry out fieldwork, customer visits or attend conferences which will require business travel (<15%).
