Job Title : Program Supervisor for Peer Support / Qualified Professional

Work Hours : 10 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM, Monday through Thursday

The Ship Group Services is dedicated to providing high-quality behavioral health support and community services. We are seeking a Program Supervisor for Peer Support / Qualified Professional to lead and manage our Peer Support Program . This role is responsible for linking, monitoring, and coordinating services to ensure effective program delivery and client success.

Position Summary

The Program Supervisor for Peer Support will provide quality supervision, program oversight, and staff development to ensure Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) effectively deliver services in alignment with recovery-oriented, person-centered principles . This role requires active involvement in program assessment, staff training, administrative supervision, and client acquisition to maintain service effectiveness.

The Program Supervisor must be trained in quality supervisory skills and possess knowledge of the CPSS role , including the principles and philosophy of recovery and the NC Peer Support Specialist Certification Program’s code of ethics. Occasional travel to meet with clients is required.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Program Oversight

Provide administrative and supportive supervision to program staff individually at least once per month , or more frequently as needed.
Plan work assignments, monitor, review, and evaluate staff performance to ensure quality service delivery.
Facilitate staff meetings and conduct routine service note reviews for quality assurance.
Advocate for the CPSS and Peer Support Services (PSS) program within the organization and in the community.
Promote both professional and personal growth of CPSS staff within established human resource standards.
Collaborate with staff to assess strengths and areas for growth and develop individual supervision plans .

Client Support & Service Coordination

Understand and support the role of CPSS in promoting recovery and beneficiary engagement .

Facilitate or co-facilitate skill-building recovery groups based on client needs or requests.

Coordinate beneficiary assessments as needed; if appropriately licensed, the QP may conduct these assessments .

Ensure completion of community resource referrals requested by beneficiaries.

Collaborate with CPSS and beneficiaries to develop recovery-oriented, person-centered plans (PCP) that integrate care across service providers.

Determine team caseload size based on the level of acuity and needs of the beneficiaries .

Monitoring & Compliance

Conduct at least one in-person, telehealth, or telephonic contact with each beneficiary within 90 days of PSS being initiated, and no less than every 90 days thereafter , to :

Monitor beneficiary progress.

Assess the effectiveness of the program.

Review and document progress on the person-centered plan (PCP).

Ensure program compliance with agency policies, service definitions, and state regulations.

Job Requirements

Certification and Experience :

Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) with experience in behavioral health or substance abuse settings.

Qualified Professional (QP) status under 10A NCAC 27G .0104 requirements.

Skills and Abilities :

Strong leadership, supervision, and coaching skills .

Ability to effectively link, monitor, and coordinate services.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems .

Other Requirements :

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel occasionally within the service area.

Ability to pass a background check .

High level of integrity and confidentiality adherence .

Provide 3 professional references with contact information.
