What You’ll Do:
- Support the company’s Safety program by assisting Regional leadership with safety training, incident/accident investigations, and compliance with safety policies.
- Coordinate weekly toolbox training information, monthly required safety training, and annual MSHA training for team members.
- Assist Regional leadership with compliance for DOT drivers, including daily inspections and oversight.
- Facilitate DOT physical renewals.
- Maintain Driver Qualification files through third-party vendors by uploading road tests and scheduling medical card renewals.
- Review driver road tests to ensure proper training and testing is conducted.
- Conduct safety training sessions, both virtually and in-person, as needed.
- Investigate accidents and near misses to determine root causes and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Manage the installation and oversight of telematics devices in vehicles within assigned regions.
- Monitor telematics violations and ensure accuracy of alerts.
- Track driver status regarding compliance with safe driving requirements and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain third-party safety monitoring sites to track safety KPIs and compliance for our customers.
- Assist with onboarding new employees by conducting Safety Orientation and enrolling them in third-party safety programs.
- Support environmental compliance efforts in conjunction with the VP of Operations and the Safety Manager.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety role within an organization.
- At least 2 years’ experience with DOT regulations preferred.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and regulatory standards is a plus.
- Proficiency with computers, including internet navigation, email, ERP systems, MS Word and Excel, and other relevant software.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of tasks, possesses a positive attitude, and exhibits professional communication skills.
