Position Overview
We’re seeking a Development Specialist who is a true hunter—someone who excels at identifying and securing new donors. This role focuses on expanding the donor base through strategic outreach, relationship-building, and innovative fundraising efforts. Success in this position hinges on consistent daily, weekly, and monthly activity to drive results and achieve fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Acquisition: Identify, cultivate, and secure new donors to support the mission, focusing on individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Strategic Outreach: Develop and execute strategies to connect with prospective donors, including cold calls, personalized emails, and networking.
- Relationship Building: Establish strong, meaningful relationships with potential donors, effectively communicating the mission and impact.
- Activity Tracking: Maintain a disciplined approach to daily, weekly, and monthly outreach activities, ensuring accountability and transparency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to align efforts and share insights on donor trends and opportunities.
- Reporting & Metrics: Track and report progress toward fundraising goals, providing updates on new donor acquisition and engagement.
Qualifications
- Proven success in a donor development, sales, or business development role, with a focus on securing new relationships.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to achieve measurable results.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and donor management tools is a plus.
