Profile Summary:
The Risk Analytics Actuary will be responsible for enhancing risk modeling capabilities and supporting regular monitoring and reporting on analytics to inform business decisions and enhance financial stability.
Profile Responsibilities:
- Support the quantification of the company’s risks using advanced modeling techniques.
- Enhance risk modeling and reporting capabilities at the company and local entity levels across multiple accounting bases, with strong stress and scenario testing across various measures including capital, liquidity, and value.
- Produce a comprehensive suite of risk analytics on a quarterly and annual basis and gauge alignment of results with company risk appetite. Effectively report on results to senior management.
- Ensure risk models are used to provide insights into potential impacts on the company’s financial stability and capital requirements.
- Collaborate with the Investment, Finance, and Actuarial teams to refine risk modeling methodologies, calculations, and models to best inform business decisions.
- Ensure stress testing models are built using robust actuarial and statistical methodologies and are fit for purpose.
- Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of data used in risk models, ensuring data quality and integrity. Implement advanced analytics to improve the accuracy and reliability of risk models.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of risk models, and frequency of stress testing.
- Communicate complex risk modeling concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Interact with senior levels of management to facilitate understanding of usage of risk models and inform critical business decisions.
Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or other related field.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, or similar designation, with 7 years of experience.
- Superior technical skills, with the ability to streamline multiple processes through appropriate utilization of available tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate results to senior management.
- Good understanding of actuarial principles, risk modeling techniques, financial theory, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making in complex business environments.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
