Profile Description
- Lead the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial results, ensuring accuracy and clarity in reporting under US GAAP.
- Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements under US GAAP accounting principles.
- Liaise with external auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient completion of annual audits, addressing any issues that arise during the process.
- Perform detailed analytical reviews of the consolidated financial results, clearly articulating key drivers for results including the identification of corrective or preventative actions, if any.
- Ensure all financial filings due to investors are prepared and submitted within the agreed deadlines.
- Assist in preparing financial data and commentary for investor decks, and management discussions.
- Ownership of controls and overall risk assessments related to financial reporting.
- Monitoring changes in US GAAP accounting principles and recommendation on approach for Resolution LifeRe. Implementation of changes where required.
- Research and interpret US GAAP accounting standards, providing technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including reinsurance structures, acquisitions, and capital-related matters.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policies, ensuring consistency and compliance with US GAAP
- Participation and representation of Resolution Life’s interest in industry working groups and other venues, where appropriate.
- Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for senior leadership, board meetings, audit committee meetings, and investor communications.
- Drive enhancements to existing reporting processes and controls, leveraging automation and best practices.
- Support to Actuarial, Investment Accounting and FP&A teams to assess financial impacts of new business initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to junior finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Assist in workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding of new hires within the finance function.
- Provide support for internal financial reviews and ad hoc reporting requirements from senior leadership.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- CPA, CFA, MBA or similar designation strongly preferred
- 5-10 years related experience required
- Managerial experience strongly preferred
