Position Summary:

As a Boat Operator, you will be responsible for safely navigating and maneuvering various types of watercraft, including motorboats, or other marine vessels. Your primary duty is to ensure the safe transportation of passengers, cargo, or equipment across waterways. This role may involve working in various settings such as commercial shipping and expeditions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Operate and navigate boats or other marine vessels in accordance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Safely embark and disembark passengers or cargo as required.
- Monitor weather conditions, water traffic, and navigational hazards to ensure safe passage.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on vessels, including engine, hull, and navigation equipment.
- Keep accurate records of voyages, including logs of hours, distances traveled, and any incidents or maintenance performed.
- Provide safety briefings and instructions to passengers, including emergency procedures.
- Assist passengers with boarding, securing personal belongings, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with crew members, passengers, and maritime authorities via radio or other communication devices.
- Adhere to environmental regulations regarding waste disposal, fueling procedures, and wildlife protection.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to emergencies, including medical situations, engine failure, or distress calls.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain relevant certifications and skills.
- Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with passengers and other stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Valid boat operator license or relevant maritime certification.
- Demonstrated experience in operating boats or marine vessels, with knowledge of navigation techniques, maritime laws, and safety procedures.
- Strong swimming ability and proficiency in water rescue techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in varying weather conditions.
- Physical fitness and agility to perform duties such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks for marine engines, electrical systems, and hull maintenance.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as required by operational needs.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and professionalism among passengers and crew members.

Travel Requirement:
